MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia senior women's basketball player Janell Dunlap was arrested Monday by Morgantown police and charged with destruction of property.
The alleged incident took place Nov. 21.
"The issue involving Janell Dunlap is a matter that is in the process of being handled by appropriate WVU officials and Morgantown city authorities," WVU coach Mike Carey said in a press release.
The release said Carey would have no further comment on the issue.
Dunlap, the team's leading rebounder, is a 5-10 forward from Memphis, Tenn. She came to West Virginia from Wabash Valley College.
She leads WVU (6-1) in rebounding at 7.1 per game and is also averaging 7.6 points a game.
She is the second WVU women's player to be arrested, as junior center Latitia Williams was charged with shoplifting earlier and was suspended for five games by Carey.
