Emmanuel defeats Rainelle

BECKLEY -- The Emmanuel Christian girls defeated Rainelle Christian, 34, 29, Friday and advanced to today's championship game of the West Virginia Christian Athletic Association against Calvary Baptist.

Jondelyn Freeman led the way for Emmanuel (12-4) with a game-high 15 points.

Brittany Huet added nine points and 10 rebounds.

Jessi Hamrick and Jenni Miller each scored eight for Rainelle.

Today's title game will tip off at 11:30 a.m. on the campus of Appalachian Bible College in Beckley.

Boys basketball

n Lincoln 64, Philip Barbour 60: Jared Bryant led four Lincoln players in double digits as the Cougars pulled out a victory against Philip Barbour.

Adam Southern added 13 points for the Cougars (16-4, 10-2) while Travis Sinclair posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Jeremy Harmer chipped in with 11 points and nine assists.

Mark Summerfield scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Colts (9-12, 5-7). Josh Moore and William Schiefelbein each added 15.
