Doddridge County cut the lead to 10 points twice, the last time on a pair of free throws by Chris Mitchell with 2:14 left in the third quarter, but was unable to get any closer

"We did the job defensively tonight," Tyler Consolidated coach Rick Leach said.

"Doddridge County didn't get many shots off. Our match-up zone just worked tremendously in the second half."

Doddridge County (8-12) led 26-25 at halftime but was shutdown offensively in the second half, while Tyler Consolidated's frontcourt took the game over.

Richmond scored 13 in the second half, while Patterson added six.

"Richmond has been our leading scorer, but we also got some nice contributions from other players tonight."
