Irene D. Allen

NUTTER FORT -- Irene D. Allen, 70, of Center Branch, died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, July 4, 1998, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born April 9, 1928, in Taylor County, a daughter of the late William Guy Powley and Mabel Williams Morgan Pyle.

Her husband, Hoy R. Allen, survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael R. Allen, Columbia, S.C.; five daughters, Sharon Jean Walls and Joyce "Judy" Allen, both of Nutter Fort, Jennifer Bailey, Crookston, Minn., Kay Allen, at home, and Debi Allen, Quiet Dell; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and a member of the Center Branch Baptist Church.

Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Greathouse Funeral Home, Nutter Fort Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Mason Bennett officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peoples Hospice of Clarksburg.

Goff Cress

BUCKHANNON -- Goff Cress, 73, of HC 36 Box 120, Tallmansville, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born April 5, 1925, in Queens, a son of the late Thurman J. Cress and Minnie Myrtle Taylor Cress.

Surviving are one brother, George Beauford Cress, Beaumont, Calif.

Mr. Cress was a timber cutter.

Geraldine Fullerton

BUCKHANNON -- Geraldine "Jerry" Fullerton, 70, of 1814 Snyder Corner Road, Windsor, Pa., died Friday, July 3, 1998, at York Hospital.

She was born June 26, 1928, in Ivanhoe, a daughter of Evid Miller and Juanita Westfall Miller, Buckhannon.

Also surviving are two daughters, Connie Garza, Windsor, Pa., and Joan Deters, Williamsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Rexroad, Hampton, and Sue Phillips, French Creek; two brothers, Eugene Miller, Hampton, and O'Neal Miller, Excelsior; one granddaughter, Lisa Swalinski, Altamonte Springs, Fla.; and one grandson, David Garza, Windsor.

She was preceded in death by one infant daughter.

Ms. Fullerton was a clerk for Conrad and Sons.

Freda M. Leeson

NUTTER FORT -- Freda M. Leeson, 84, of Route 2, Clarksburg, Summit Park, died early Friday, July 3, 1998, in a local nursing home following an extended illness.

Her husband, Evert Leeson, preceded her in death on May 21, 1998.

She was born July 15, 1913, in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Burl and Ollie Williams Crislip.

Surviving are one son, Edward A. Leeson Sr., Columbus, Ga.

Her body will be cremated.

Jean L. Wilson

SALEM -- Jean L. Wilson, 65, of Route 1, died Saturday, July 4, 1998, at her home.

She was born March 6, 1933, in Tyler County, a daughter of the late Emery and Gay Haught LaZear.

Her husband, David L. Wilson, whom she married Aug. 30, 1952, survives.

Also surviving are three sons, David Emery Wilson, Vienna, Va., Timoth Lawrence Wilson and Christopher A. Wilson, both of Clarksburg; two daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Susan) Gacek, Waynesburg, Pa., and Mrs. Theodore (Carolyn) Carlson, Lancaster, Pa.; three sisters, Kathryn Watkins, Dearborn, Mich., Ruth VanCamp, Middlebourne, and Mary Pethal, Mannington; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. Along with her husband, she was co-owner and operator of Town and Country Hardware in Salem.

Her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
