RCB hosts wrestling event
Youth wrestlers throughout the state will compete today at the North Central Junior Wrestling Association Youth Championships at Robert C. Byrd High School.
Forty-one teams and 441 wrestlers are scheduled to compete. The Clarksburg Junior Wrestling Club boasts one returning champion from last year's event, Tommy Dodd.
Doors open at 7 a.m. and wrestling begins at 9 a.m.
n A-B 8, Niagara 7: Former Liberty all-stater Nate Gladwell blasted a three-run, sixth-inning home run as Alderson-Broaddus rallied for a win over Niagara in Fort Myers, Fla.
Gladwell finished 2-for-2 with five RBIs.
Dave Mollahan notched the win and Matt Haney picked up the save for A-B.
n WVU 15, Cleveland St. 5: Kevin Olkowski's 2-run double highlighted a nine-run second inning in a win over Cleveland State.
Vance McCracken picked up the win for the Mountaineers (3-11), giving up nine hits and striking out five in seven innings of work. Former Parkersburg standout Eric Grimm had two hits for West Virginia.
