Two people were killed this weekend in Lewis County in an all-terrain vehicle accident, according to Deputy Wayne Reynolds of the Lewis County Sheriff's Department.

The names of the victims were not released.

The accident occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, Reynolds said.

Officers responded to the call around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, he said.

The accident occurred in a rugged wooded area off U.S. Route 19 outside of Weston, said Fire Chief Michael S. Young of the Weston Volunteer Fire Department.

The Jackson's Mill Volunteer Fire Department and the Weston Volunteer Fire Department both assisted at the scene, Young said.

No further information was available Sunday evening.
