Anthony Bellotte Jr.

CLARKSBURG -- Anthony Bellotte Jr., 66, of 48 Groveland Terrace, Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Clarksburg, died Friday morning, Dec. 29, 2000, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.

He was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Antonio Bellotte and Rosella Florenza Bellotte.

Surviving are five brothers, Louis Bellotte and wife, Angie, Jerry Bellotte, Joe Bellotte and wife, Virginia, Matthew "Mack" Bellotte, all of Clarksburg, Sam Bellotte and wife, Mary Teresa, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; one sister, Rosalee Hamrick, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; one brother-in-law, Ken Heinzen, Hopkins, Minn., and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Anna Marie Bellotte Heinzen, and one brother-in-law, Randy Hamrick, Pigeon Forge.

Mr. Bellotte was a U.S. veteran of the Navy. He was a retired salesman.

He was a graduate of Victory High School. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

Friends may call at the Bartolo Funeral Home, 515 West Pike St., from noon-9 p.m. Monday. Catholic burial rites will be held at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Father Robert A. Perriello officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Clarksburg.

Grethel Dolores 'Granny' Blake

WESTON -- Grethel Dolores "Granny" Blake, 58, of 147 Mulberry Ave., Weston, died at 4:16 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Marsh Jr. and Sadie Juanita Ball Marsh.

Her husband, Robert R. Blake, whom she married Jan. 19, 1963, survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Tina Marie Thomason, Weston; five sons, Daniel Blake, Russell Blake, William Blake and Charles Blake, all of Weston, and Douglas Blake, Shinnston; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Kay Friend, Wheeling, and Pam Cronin, Buckhannon; five brothers, Carl and Kenny Marsh, Weston, Gary Marsh, Reno, Nev., Gene Marsh, Los Angeles, Calif., and Francis Marsh, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Blake.

Mrs. Blake was a housewife.

Friends will be received at the Floyd Funeral Home, 402 Main Ave., Weston, from 6-8 p.m. Monday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert A. Heater officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Lewis County.

Thomas E. Bohone

CLARKSBURG -- Thomas E. "Gene" Bohone, 75, of 311 Thomas Ave., Nutter Fort, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center, Clarksburg.

He was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Morgantown, a son of the late Duffy B. Bohon and Mattie Moore Bohon.

His wife, Larna S. Bohone, survives in Nutter Fort.

Also surviving are three sons, Peter V. Liston, Robert S. Liston and wife, Mary Ann Liston, all of Clarksburg, Thomas A. Bohone Jr. and wife, Mary Catherine Liberati Bohon, Parkersburg; one daughter, Brenda J. Liston and husband, Terry Hotsinpiller, Bridgeport; one brother, Duffy B. Bohon Jr.; five grandchildren, Christina Richards, Sabrina Rhodes, Heather Jean Powers, Clarksburg, and Gene and Jessica Bohone, Parkersburg; five stepgrandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Harry J. Bohon.

Mr. Bohone was a brick and stone mason. Much of his masonry work can be admired in Harrison County at such places as the Salvation Army and the South United Methodist Church on Chestnut Street, Twin Oaks Restaurant, Ridenour Veterinary Clinic in Bridgeport, and also a stonework at Watters Smith State Park and the French Creek Game Farm.

He served as a private first class Marine in World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was Protestant by faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as hobbies.

Friends may call at the McGlumphy Funeral Home/Chapel, 260 East Main St., from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Gerald Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown. Military graveside rites will be accorded.

Ina Murphy Boylen

JANE LEW -- Ina Murphy Boylen, 97, of Straley Addition, Jane Lew, died at 11:32 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in the United Hospital Center, Clarksburg.

She was born July 23, 1903, in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late John Daniel and Virginia Belle Blake Murphy.

Her husband, Harlan A. Boylen, whom she married Sept. 30, 1921, preceded her in death on June 6, 1983.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Harold K. Boylen and wife, Evelyn, Nederland, Texas; one daughter, Glenna Murray, Orange City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Janet Rinehart, Harrisonburg, Va., Mike Rinehart, Weston, William Boylen, Spring, Texas, and Nancy Westfall, Jane Lew; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, seven brothers and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Boylen was a member of the Women's Society of the First United Methodist Church, Lewis County Senior Citizens, Jane Lew Memorial Unit No. 166 of the American Legion, where she was the oldest member, and the First United Methodist Church of Jane Lew.

Friends will be received at the Morris Funeral Home, Jane Lew, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Garden.

Kemper E. Cogar

NUTTER FORT -- Kemper E. Cogar, 73, of Lost Creek, died suddenly Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 13, 1927, at Romines Mills, a son of the late Willis A. and Nora Cogar.

His wife, Geneva M. Cain Cogar, whom he married June 16, 1946, survives.

Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Janice A. Cogar; three grandchildren, Michelle Lea Leonard, LaDonna Sue Cogar and Keith Cogar, all of Lost Creek; five sisters, Opal Krial, Cleveland, Ohio, Dorothy Joseph, Route 1, Volga, Vada Davis and Greta Robey, both of Reynoldsville, and Roxie Conley, Bridgeport.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold, Jess and a brother in infancy.

Mr. Cogar was the owner and operator of Cogar's Garage and Excavating since 1959. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Air Force.

He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Shirley J. Craig

WESTON -- Shirley J. Craig, 77, of 509 Charles St., Weston, died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, following an extended illness.

He was born June 3, 1923, in Gilmer County, a son of the late George Craig and Mary Amos Craig.

His wife, Eleanor Baughman Craig, whom he married April 12, 1967, survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Linda Skinner and Christina Rinehart, both of Jane Lew, Eliza Ruckman, Buffalo Lake, and Laneeta Craig, Weston; three sons, Rusty Craig and David Perrine, both of Jane Lew, and Christopher Craig, Weston; many foster children; nine grandchildren, Austin, Brandon and Breana Craig, Tiffany Rinehart, Sherri Strothers, Crystal Rowan, Loretta, Bub and Torie Ruckman; two great-grandchildren, Bret and Brittany Strothers; one brother, William Craig, Warfield; two sisters, Jackie Hamrick, Weston, and Norma Farrington, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Kathleen and Carol Craig, and Marjorie Harris; and three brothers, Virgil Lee, George and John Craig.

Mr. Craig was a night watchman for the World Wide Equipment of Jane Lew. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Weston Moose Lodge No. 1376 and American Association of Retired Persons.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Lillian Devison

FAIRMONT -- Lillian Anastasia Devison, 35, of Fairmont, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital following a three-year battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 23, 1965, in Washington, D.C., the only daughter of Dorothy M. Haas Devison of Fairmont and the late John William Devison.

Also surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, John R. Devison and Kelli Wilkinson, Alexandria, Va.; her grandmother, Lilly Haas, Watertown, N.Y.; two uncles, Rod Devison, Fairmont, and Steven Haas, Watertown; and several cousins, including Kathleen and John Nigh, Fairmont.

Ms. Devison was the director of economic development for the Fairmont Industrial Credit Corporation. In the 10 years she was employed at the FICC, she helped recruit and retain business for Marion County. She was associated with numerous business groups and was well respected through out the state for her work in economic development.

Prior to that, she was employed with the Marion County United Way. She remained active with the United Way as a volunteer, serving on the board of directors and as chairman of the allocations committee. She was active in numerous community organizations including High Gate, Main Street, South Fairmont Rotary Club and most recently was the lead person in organizing the Marion County Foundation. She had also been active on local government boards, among them Region VI Planning and Development and city of Fairmont Planning Commission.

She was educated at Fairmont Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Fairmont Senior High School. She attended Fairmont State College and earned a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in political science. She earned a master's in public administration and was working toward a second master's in business administration at WVU. She attended St. Peter The Fisherman Roman Catholic Church in Fairmont.

She received many awards and honors, including the Presidents Award in 1998 from the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Fairmont, time to be announced.

Eunice B. Mackey Conner Golden

CLARKSBURG -- Eunice B. "Rosie" or "Dube" Mackey Conner Golden, 79, of Route 6, Box 728, Davisson Run, Clarksburg, died at 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born April 7, 1921, a daughter of the late John Leonard Mackey and Lucy Ellen Jenkins Newbrough Mackey.

Her first husband, Samuel Nelson Conner, preceded her in death. Her second husband, James Keith Golden, whom she married Nov. 16, 1957, preceded her in death on May 15, 1988.

Surviving are five daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Sue and husband, Frank Petrosino, Rockville, Md., Edith Irene "Sissy" and husband, Joseph Carter, Davisson Run Road, with whom she made her home, Brenda Kay and husband, John Garrett, Clarksburg, Vickie Lynne Jenkins, Lost Creek, and Deloris Ellen Leigh, Hyattsville, Md.; one son, Darrell Lynn Golden, Grafton; three sisters, Waveline Thompson, Fairmont, Blanche Kennedy, Clarksburg, and Irene Hoban, Chicago, Ill.; 10 grandsons, Michael Frank Petrosino, Robert Petrosino, Brian Dane Leigh, Clinton Ray Carter, John Robert Wade Carter, Charles Ennis "E.C." Payne, Chris Sauerwein, James Keith Jenkins, David Jenkins and Darrell Lynn Golden Jr.; two granddaughters, Brandi Nicole Payne and April Sue Sauerwein; seven great-great-grandsons and six great-great-granddaughters.

She was also preceded in death by one son, William Lee Conner; one granddaughter, Patricia Petrosino; one grandson, David Joseph Carter; four brothers, Kenneth Virgil Mackey, Archie Blaine Mackey, Jessie Mackey and Clarence Edward; eight sisters, Daisey Dell Parrish, Alma Mae Tulin, Dolly Bell James, Lillie Babbitt, Edith Mackey, Leona Blanchford, Kathleen Doloris Henry and Ida Mackey.

Mrs. Golden retired from the former Brockway Glass Co. with 32 years of service. She was a Baptist by faith.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Old Time Baptist Church, 318 Harrison St., Clarksburg, with the Rev. Leonard Ludwick officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. McGlumphy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Arnett Gerald Haymond

BUCKHANNON -- Arnett Gerald Haymond, 88, of 45 Cleveland Ave., Buckhannon, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, in Holbrook's Nursing Home, Buckhannon.

He was born May 15, 1912, at Kanawha Head, a son of the late Wade Hampton Haymond and Maggie Carpenter Haymond.

His wife, Frona Bell Friend Haymond, whom he married March 28, 1933, survives in Buckhannon.

Also surviving are three daughters, Helen Jean Allman, Arletta Mae Mick, and Kathryn Sue Higginbotham, all of Buckhannon; two sons, Harold Ross Haymond, Elkins, and Ralph Gerald Haymond, Fairmont; three half brothers, Augustine Haymond, New Jersey, Gene Haymond and Harris Alan Haymond, both of Arizona; two half sisters, Lorain Haymond, Delaware, and Mazzie Haymond, Nevada; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Billy Joe Haymond; six brothers, Jonas Preston Haymond, Stanley Haymond, Barrick Haymond, Murray Haymond, Gary Haymond and Harry Haymond; one sister, Mabel Tharp; two half brothers, Zane Haymond and Oscar Haymond; and one half sister, Betty Rose Haymond.

Mr. Haymond was a truck driver for the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of Eden United Methodist Church, Eden.

He loved playing with his grandchildren at his camp at Eden.

Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Buckhannon, from 4-9 p.m. today. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Dr. Ellis Conley officiating. Burial will be in the Canaan Church Cemetery, Canaan.

Susan Elizabeth Lang

BRIDGEPORT -- Susan Elizabeth Lang, 91, of Fourth Street, Bridgeport, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at her residence.

She was born April 8, 1909, in Bridgeport, Brushy Fork community, a daughter of the late John Griffin Lang and Elizabeth Celia Bond Lang.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Albert (Lena) Wright, Titusville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews, including Sandra Dean, Bridgeport.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Hornor Lang; and two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Rachael) Morris and Mrs. Abner (Agnes) Stout.

Ms. Lang was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Salem College, and received her master's degree in primary education from West Virginia University. She taught 45 years in Harrison County schools, 32 years as a first-grade teacher at Simpson Grade School.

She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Bridgeport Women's Club, WVU Alumni Association, Harrison County Retired Teachers Association, Harrison County Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired People and was a member at large with the Harrison County Extension Homemakers.

Mrs. Lang's request was to be cremated. The interment of her cremains will be held at the convenience of the family. The arrangements are being handled by the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main St., Bridgeport.

The family requests donations be made to the Bridgeport United Methodist Church Permanent Fund.

Cleveland G. 'Junior' Robinson

SALEM -- Cleveland G. "Junior" Robinson, 77, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his residence on Route 23, near Salem, after an extended illness.

He was born July 26, 1923, in Sedalia, Doddridge County, a son of the late Cletus Glenn and Hazel Flanigan Robinson.

His wife, Wavelyne Cayton Robinson, whom he married July 8, 1943, survives.

Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Thomas L. and Judy Robinson, Woodfield, Ohio, and Kenneth L. and Vivian Robinson, Salem; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicky L. and Arzey Underwood, Bluefield, Va.; five grandsons, one granddaughter, five great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons and one brother, Woodrow Robinson, Salem.

Mr. Robinson was a veteran of World War II, serving as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. He retired from Pennzoil in 1986 with 30 years of service. He was a charter member of Teamsters Local 175, serving as union steward.

He was a well-known auctioneer in Doddridge and surrounding counties for over 40 years. He was a member of the Mid Ohio Valley Auctioneer Association, the American Legion Post 25 and the Doddridge County Lions Club.

He was elected and served on the Doddridge County Board of Education for 24 consecutive years. He was a Baptist by faith and attended Vermont Baptist Church at Sedalia.

Family will receive friends at the Harbert Funeral Home, Salem, from 2-9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lillian Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem, with full military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3408 and American Legion Post 25.

Thurl Stalnaker

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. -- Thurl Stalnaker, 82, of 56 Rimmon Road, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 8, 1918, in Hardman, W.Va., a son of the late Creighton and Gay Knotts Stalnaker.

His wife, Adah Simons Stalnaker, survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth (Elrond) Wojtkiewicz, Hamden; four sons, Thurl (Shelly) Stalnaker Jr., Aloha, Ore., Howard Webster (Nancy) Stalnaker, Colchester, Vt., Scott Edsel (Teri Moneysmith) Stalnaker, Pflugerville, Texas, and Craig Simons (Loretta) Stalnaker, Randolph, Vt.; one sister, Mrs. Arnolee (Henry) Scherer, Greenville, Pa.; five brothers, Blaine (Mary) Stalnaker, Atlanta, Ga., Gerald (Judy) Stalnaker, Weston, W.Va., Burhl Dean (Trudy) Stalnaker, Dobson, N.C., Edsel Stalnaker and Keith (Elaine) Stalnaker, both of Camden, W.Va.; and nine grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Grethel Gray, Naomi Stalnaker and Ioma Stalnaker; and one brother, Leo Stalnaker.

Mr. Stalnaker was an FBI special agent, New Haven office, for 26 years, retiring in 1977. He then worked at the former Connecticut Bank & Trust, Hartford office, as the vice president of internal security for 10 years.

From 1986-1988 he was zoning officer for the Town of North Haven. He was a 1948 graduate of West Virginia University and received his law degree from its law school in 1950.

He was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, North Haven, and a World War II Army veteran.

There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 3 Trumbull Place, North Haven. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven is entrusted with arrangements.
