Sherry Lynn Barber

FAIRMONT -- Sherry Lynn Barber, 20, of 329 Holland Ave., Westover, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born June 29, 1979, in Morgantown, at University Hospital, a daughter of Nancy Davich Barber, Westover, and Jerry Barber and stepmother, Pam Barber, Bridgeport.

She formerly lived with her grandparents, Bud and Deanna Starcher and cousin, Johnna Barber, Farmington.

Surviving are three brothers, Jeremy Barber and Benjamin Marks Barber, both of Bridgeport, and Austin Barber, Fairmont; her grandfather, Charles R. Barber, Fairmont; her grandmother, Mary Davich, Westover; her boyfriend, Scott Watkins, Westover; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John E. Davic and great-grandparents, Earl and Hazel Waller, Flemington.

Miss Barber was a graduate of North Marion High School with the class of 1998, where she was a member of the drill team and DECA program.

She attended Noah's Ark Assembly of God in Fairview, occasionally. She dearly loved Pastor Louise Tennent.

She enjoyed writing poetry and was a high-spirited person and family oriented. She loved her family and had a big heart. Sherry always had a beautiful smile on her face.

Savanah Mae Fitzgerald

BUCKHANNON -- Savanah Mae Fitzgerald, 84, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at St. Joseph's Nursing Care Facility.

She was born April 16, 1916, in Goshen, a daughter of the late Quinter J. Sines and Minnie F. Gregory Sines.

Her husband, Willie Taft Fitzgerald, whom she married Feb. 1, 1932, preceded her in death April 9, 1984.

Surviving are three daughters, Deloris Riffle, Louisville, Ohio, Mrs. Bacil (Bonnie) Strader, Amherst, Ohio, Mrs. Barthel (Hazel) Townsend, Romney; one son, James Burton Fitzgerald, French Creek; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Davis, Buckhannon; and one uncle, Roy Gregory, Rock Cave.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia M. Long and one infant daughter; one grandson, Rusty Riffle; one sister, Geraldine Fitzgerald; and one brother, Kyle Sines.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Goshen.

John F. Riley Jr.

WESTON -- John F. Riley Jr., 74, of 131 West Seventh St., Weston, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Weston, a son of the late Dr. John F. Riley Sr. and Lulu Morrison Riley.

His wife, the former "Sissie" Davisson, whom he married Jan. 6, 1951, survives.

Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, John F. Riley III and wife, Sabine, Weston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Darwin (Sharon) Pinkney, Weston, Mrs. Arthur (Pamela) CapoBianco, Centreville, Va., and Mrs. Warren (Sally) Bennett, Kingsland, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Ben and Andrew Pinkney, Courtney, Robbie and Brodie Bennett, Ben and John Riley; three brothers, James Riley, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Thomas Riley, Staunton, Va., and Dr. David Riley, Portsmouth, Va.; and two sisters, Mrs. Bud (Mary L.) Fury, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Mrs. Lee (Joan) Greenlief, Satellite Beach, Fla.

Mr. Riley was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways with 26 years of service as a land agent.

He was a member and a past grand knight of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1415, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1376, and a past marshall of the U.S. Golf Association Senior Tour.

He was a past member of the Board of Directors of Deerfield Country Club, and an active volunteer with Theresa Snaith Hospital Auxiliary.

Mr. Riley was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, Class of 1948, and a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Weston where he served as an usher. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy.

Friends may call at the Boyle Funeral Home, 322 Main Ave., Weston, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, from the St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. James Murphy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Machpelah Cemetery. A Rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. today from the funeral home chapel. Full military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 4 and No. 166, D.A.V. Chapter 51, Central West Virginia Chapter No. 69 Military Order of Purple Heart and Veterans of Foreign Wars post No. 5131.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SJMH Home Care No. 1 Garton Plaza, Weston.

Goldie A. 'Willie' Rinehart

WESTON -- Goldie A. "Willie" Rinehart, 85, of 401 John St., Weston, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital of Weston, following an extended illness.

She was born May 29, 1914, in Hurst, Lewis County, a daughter of the late Sheridan Burkhammer and Viola Radcliff Burkhammer.

Her husband, Loyal C. Rinehart, whom she married March 9, 1932, preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1987.

Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma Lattea and husband, Roy G. Lattea Jr., Toledo, Ohio; Naomi Lattea and husband, William J. Lattea, Roanoke, Shirley L. Starcher and husband, Richard Starcher, Pricetown, and Sandra Swiger and husband, Ronald M. Swiger; 11 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, one step great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step grandchild.

Mrs. Rinehart was a homemaker and attended Vadis United Methodist Church at Vadis.

Friends will be received at the Floyd Funeral Home, 402 Main Ave., Weston, from 6-8 p.m. today. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randall Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Carder Cemetery, Vadis.

William Burl Waggoner

CLARKSBURG -- William Burl Waggoner, 90, of Route 4, Box 134, Grafton, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2000, in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, following a brief illness.

He was born April 30, 1910, in Weston, a son of the late Charles Garland Waggoner and Grace Kittle Waggoner.

His wife, Zeta L. Grant Waggoner, whom he married Nov. 27, 1934, preceded him in death Jan. 22, 1973.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by twin sisters, Mrs. Bailey (Selma) Curtis and Thelma Waggoner.

Mr. Waggoner was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Weston, and the Weston Lions Club. He was a charter member of Hackers Creek Pioneer Descendants and a member of Weston Masonic Lodge No. 10, A.F. and A.M. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason with memberships in the Clarksburg and Wheeling bodies. He was also a member of the Retired Hope Field Engineers Group.

From 1932-1934 he served as a U.S. Navy Air Wing Squadron crew chief. In 1936 he began work with the Hope Natural Gas Company and retired from Consolidated Gas Systems as chief systems gas dispatcher, Pittsburgh Full Country Divisions.

Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, where a funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Father Marian S. Mazgaj presiding. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be memorial contributions to Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 206 South Second St., Weston, WV 26452.

Elmer Woodson

BUCKHANNON -- Elmer Woodson, 57, of Buckhannon Manor, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Czar, a son of Arlene W. Woodson Lee of Buckhannon, and the late Mirl Woodson.

Also surviving are four children, Angela Tiziani and Shelia Sparks, both of Buckhannon, Darryle Woodson, Massillon, Ohio, and Dale Duke, Bolivar, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Garth and Brett Woodson, Josh Cutright, Samantha Sparks, Sheree, Veronica and Daryl Duke; three brothers, Gene and Jerry Woodson, both of Sanford, N.C., and Albert Woodson, Selbyville; and four sisters, Deloris Bryant and Wanda Hawkins, both of French Creek, Carla Harper, Buckhannon, and Tammy Ford, Glenville.

Mr. Woodson had attended the Pine Grove United Methodist Church at Czar.
