Let's get quacking!

After a one-year hiatus, the Great Duck Race is back.

Granted, this isn't earth-shattering news, but it is important for the organization that benefits from the fund-raiser -- Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North Central West Virginia.

The race, scheduled for Labor Day at Veterans Memorial Park, provides money to operate this worthwhile charity in Harrison, Marion, Preston, Monongalia, Upshur and Lewis counties.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters provides one-on-one mentoring for young boys and girls from one-parent households. The local chapter currently serves about 120 children, ages 6-15.

For $5, duck sponsors get a chance to win valuable prizes. More importantly, they are given the opportunity to make a difference in a young person's life.

We urge your support of this worthwhile cause.
