A free workshop Wednesday by the Small Business Administration is designed to help potential entrepreneurs.
The SBA's Business Information Center will be conducting a free workshop from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Belington Bank branch office in Bridgeport.
The workshop will show how to create a successful business plan and how to purchase, expand or begin a small business.
"The workshop is for people to take advantage of the information and knowledge we have," said Nick Lambernedis, manager of the Business Information Center.
The SBA is mandated to help small businesses get started and maintain their businesses. "We try to help potential entrepreneurs identify the markets for their particular products or services," Lambernedis said.
The workshop will examine elements such as economic conditions and target markets and how to avoid pitfalls that may arise with a small business.
Sponsors are the Belington Bank, the Upper Mon Valley SCORE Chapter #537, the Small Business Administration and the Fairmont State College Regional Small Business Development Center.
"This is the first step. It's like a road map. There are certain procedures you need to follow," Lambernedis said.
To register or for more information, contact Lambernedis at 304-368-0023.
