Harrison sideline during timeouts as the Hawks (7-1 overall, 5-1 Big 10 Conference) topped Lewis County in straight games Thursday, 15-2, 15-7.
South Harrison coach Bernie Hurst said the team's serving led it to victory.
"Sarah Byrd had several jump serves, and Bobbi Jo (Devericks) came through," he said. "Everybody had a nice serving game."
Devericks led the team with 12 points, seven aces and five kills, although Hurst said she wasn't "on."
"Sometimes you play like the caliber of your competition," he said. "If it's not real good, then you don't play real well. And I think that's been our problem. There weren't too many mistakes on the floor, but we certainly weren't overpowered by Lewis County."
Byrd also had five aces and five kills. Emily Barker added two kills and was the assists leader with nine. Meghan Davis contributed with three aces and five assists.
In the first game, Lewis County held its own at a 3-1 score, but the Hawks racked up 12 out of the next 13 points, including six straight and five straight.
"They made some mental mistakes," Minutemaid coach Julie Ratliff said. "And they just can't finish out. But they did a pretty good job the second game."
Down 7-1 in the second game, Lewis County came back in three serves to tie it at seven, but South Harrison rattled off eight straight points in two serves for the victory.
Amy Radcliffe led Lewis County with five points.
South Harrison hosts Braxton County Tuesday.
