PARSONS -- Carl Richard Bergstrom, 67, of 103 Chestnut St., the Tucker Manor, Parsons, died Saturday morning, Sept. 30, 2000, at the Manor. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to respiratory disease.
He was born April 27, 1933, at Davis, a son of the late Carl Henry and Thelma Hobbs Bergstrom.
He had never married.
Surviving are two brothers, E. Don Bergstrom, Texas, and Gary Bergstrom; and one sister, Mary Margaret Griffith, both of Davis.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Carol Buchannon.
Mr. Bergstrom was a graduate of Davis High School with the class of 1952, where he was a member of the basketball squad.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by the former Parsons Footwear Company and retired due to disability.
Friends will be received at the Barb and Greenlief Funeral Home from 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at which time Mr. Bergstrom will be moved to the Davis Cemetery, Davis, where graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. James D. Strahin officiating. Interment will follow.
BUCKHANNON -- Laura Irene Courtney, 74, of Route 3, Box 237 BB, Buckhannon, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at her home.
She was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Leonard Grant DeMastes and Laura Jane McCartney DeMastes.
Her husband, Charles William Courtney, whom she married July 12, 1947, preceded her in death June 16, 1985.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty Malcolm, French Creek, Diana "Dee" Nazelrod and Laura "Ann" Stewart, both of Buckhannon; four sons, Richard DeMastes, French Creek, Charles Courtney, Tallmansville, Randall Courtney, Frenchton, and Gary Courtney, Adrian; three sisters, Mary "Betty" Simmons, Frenchton, Tressie Lucille Courtney and Lucy Mae Hoover, both of Buckhannon; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Jean Rafferty; one brother, Leonard G. DeMastes; one granddaughter, Joy DeMastes; and one grandson, Michael Scott Courtney.
Mrs. Courtney was a homemaker.
Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Inc., from 4-8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Stewart and the Rev. Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will be in Heavner Cemetery, Buckhannon.
DALLAS, Texas -- Charles Graeber, 73, of Dallas, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000.
He was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Owens, a son of Grace M. Graeber of Dallas, and the late Louis A. Graeber.
His wife of 47 years, Ann, survives.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Susan Graeber, and Chris and Robyn Graeber; one daughter, Kathy Graeber; five grandchildren, Don, Annie, John, Elizabeth and Ashley; and one sister, Patty Boyd and husband, Bill, Reno, Nev.
Mr. Graeber served in Germany with the Army of Occupation and graduated from West Virginia University.
He moved to Dallas, where he met and married his wife. He retired from Arco after 30 years of service and was a lifetime member and past president of Dallas Personnel Association.
He was an avid golfer, hiker and traveler.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Restland Wildwood Chapel, Greenville Avenue, Dallas, with the Rev. Linda Watkins officiating.

Sherri Lynn Miller McCauley
BELINGTON -- Sherri Lynn Miller McCauley, 24, of 200 Bridge St., Junior, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, of injuries sustained in a multi vehicle accident on Route 250, north of Belington, near Philip Barbour High School.
She was born Aug. 23, 1976, at Elkins, a daughter of Sheila Kay Blake Slayton of Junior, and Harry O. "Bud" Miller Jr. of Elkins.
Her husband, Jeremy Adam McCauley, survives in Montrose.
Also surviving are one daughter, Shasta Nicole McCauley, at home; one sister, Amelia Miller, Junior; one brother, Timothy A. Slayton, Elkins; and her maternal grandmother, Opal Faye Shomo, Belington.
She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Willard Shomo Jr.; and her paternal grandparents, Harry Olen and Deloris Miller.
Mrs. McCauley was a 1994 graduate of Philip Barbour High School. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel, Belington, from 6-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday where funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Doyle N. Rider officiating. Interment will follow in the Knights of Pythias Mountain View Cemetery at Junior.
WESTON -- Mary L. Orrahood, 84, of Route 4, Weston, Edgewood Addition, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Glo R. Weaver and Alda F. Johns Weaver.
Her husband, Fred G. Orrahood, whom she married Dec. 23, 1940, preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1988.
Surviving are one daughter, Melinda J. Orrahood, Weston; one son, Gary L. Orrahood, Blacksville; three grandchildren, Marcy Orrahood, Jennifer Keller and Danny Orrahood; two great-grandchildren, Whitney and Kaitlin Orrahood, all of Waynesburg, Pa.; two nephews, three great-nieces and two great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Pete Weaver; and one sister, Glo Ruth Genteel.
Mrs. Orrahood was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Weston. She was a member of the Weston Chapter No. 40, Order of Eastern Star.
Friends may call at the Boyle Funeral Home, 322 Main Ave., Weston, from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Crouch officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic Cemetery. An Eastern Star Service will be accorded by Weston Chapter No. 40, Order of Eastern Star at 7 p.m. today from the funeral home chapel.
CLARKSBURG -- Pauline Olive Peters, 94, of Anmoore, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at the residence of her son-in-law, Harry Hathaway, with whom she had made her home following an extended illness.
She was born March 13, 1906, in Midland, Md., a daughter of the late Perry and Rebecca Robinette.
Her first husband, Ray Dennison, and her second husband, the Rev. Frank I. Peters, both preceded her in death.
Surviving are four grandchildren, Jerry Robert Newbrough, Canaan Valley, Barry Todd Hathaway, Stonewood, Phyllis Jane Smith, Middlebourne, and Opha Ray Kesling, Clarksburg; nine great-grandchildren, David, Troy and Dale Smith, Brian and Jeff Kesling, Debbie Wilmoth, Shawn Newbrough, Jacob and Corbin Hathaway; five great-great-grandchildren, Jeremy Levi Wilmoth, Jonny Ray Kesling, Elijah Joseph Smith, Alison and Gabrielle Clegg; one cousin, Thelma Parker, Tucson, Ariz.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mary L. Hathaway and Emma Levon Kesling.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarksburg, and a lifetime member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens Center.
Family and friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home, 443 West Pike St., Clarksburg, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Craig Michel and the Rev. Etheldean Yanero of the First United Methodist Church conducting. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Anmoore.
BUCKHANNON -- Milford Paul Sipes, 77, of P.O. Box 2264, Buckhannon, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Nella's Nursing Home, Elkins.
He was born April 11, 1923, at Queens, a son of the late Enos and Bertha Tenney Sipes.
His wife, Geneva Lambert Sipes, preceded him in death.
Surviving are one sister, Dessie Tenney, Cutright Chapel; 22 nephews and 25 nieces.
Mr. Sipes was a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was Baptist by faith.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Inc., Buckhannon, from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. S.E. Lewis officiating. Burial will be at the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery, Ten Mile.
