Doddridge edges St. Marys

From Staff Reports

Lisa Davis hit a pair of free throws with 6 seconds remaining to give Doddridge County a 43-42 win over St. Marys.

Davis finished with a game-high 20 points, while teammate Lori Trent followed with six points.

n GILMER COUNTY 63, Braxton County 53: Denae Dobbins continued her dominating play, recording a triple-double to lead Gilmer County to a big lead before holding off Braxton County.

Dobbins, a 6-foot-4 sophomore, scored 19 points, had 10 rebounds and blocked 10 shots as Gilmer County (11-5) built a 42-26 lead after three quarters. Dobbins has an amazing 115 blocks in only 15 games.

Boys Basketball

n HARMAN 75, Moorefield 41: Scott Shillingburg recorded a quadruple-double as Harman (8-6) defeated Moorefield.

Shillingburg, the state's second-leading scorer, poured in 33 points, had 10 steals, grabbed 25 rebounds and handed out 11 assists.
