IRONTON, Ohio -- A man accused of killing his wife and neighbor over the weekend won't be returned to West Virginia until next week at the earliest.
Hubert Lusk Jr., 44, of Harrisville, W.Va., appeared in Lawrence County Municipal Court Thursday, but was appointed a lawyer after saying he didn't understand the extradition process. A hearing has been set for Monday.
Lusk has been charged with the deaths of his wife, 39-year-old Rhonda Lee Lusk, and neighbor, 67-year-old Francis Dale McDonald. Ritchie County, W.Va., sheriff's deputies found the bodies Sunday in the garage of McDonald's Harrisville home.
Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies arrested Lusk Wednesday morning while he was using a pay phone outside a Rome Township convenience store. He was arrested after police received a tip from someone who recognized Lusk from media reports.
Lusk was returned to the Lawrence County Jail, where he is being held on $1 million bond.
