Storms postpone all-star games

From Staff Reports

"Rain, rain go away," was the battle cry of many area baseball tournament directors on Monday. Unfortunately, their cries were not heard.

Bath Ruth and Little League all-stars will try to head back to the fields today, weather permitting.

The battle between Harrison County National and Harrison County American for a berth to play host to the Babe Ruth Ohio Valley 15-year-old Regional was postponed until Wednesday. Game time is 8 p.m at Frank Loria Memorial Field.

In 13-year-old action, the Babe Ruth District 2 tournament starts tonight at Frank Loria Field and Ritchie County High School.

Harrison County National battles Wes-Mon at Loria at 5 p.m., while Harrison County American plays Mid-Ohio Valley at Ritchie County at 6 p.m.

The winners play Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. before the 15-year-old contest.

In Little League action, the District 5, 11-12-year-old tournament resumes today at Salem Little League Field.

A loser's bracket game between Bridgeport and an Area 2 representative starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by the winner's bracket championship game between Clarksburg Central and the Area 2 winner at 7:30 p.m.

In American Legion action tonight, Bridgeport Post 68 travels to battle Clarksburg Post 13. Game time is 8 p.m.

In Palomino action, the Clarksburg Moose 17-18 team battles its 16-year-old team at Liberty High School at 6 p.m.
