WESTON -- James D. McKenzie, 74, of 21 Kitson St., Weston, died at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 31, 1926, in White County, Ill., a son of the late Charles A. and Bertha Douglas McKenzie.
On Oct. 21, 1949, he married the former Mary A. Smock, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Sue Ross and husband, Tim, Charleston; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Michael Ross and wife, Angie, Jane Lew, and Rachel Ross Hammond and husband, Richard, Jane Lew; one great-granddaughter, Emily Loran Hammond; two brothers, Jess D. McKenzie and Kenneth R. McKenzie, both of Norris City, Ill.; four sisters, Margie Robinson and Margaret Shaw, both of Norris City, twin sister, Beulah Walden, Cocoa, Fla., and Mary Holtzclaw, McClure, Ill.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Earl McKenzie and one sister, Eleta Hall.
Mr. McKenzie was employed at Kirk Drilling Co. in Illinois and later retired from Chisler Brothers Inc.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Weston, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Friends may call at the Boyle Funeral Home, 322 Main Ave., Weston, Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Krum officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic Cemetery.

Virginia Dell Linger Morris
JANE LEW -- Virginia Dell Linger Morris, 64, of First Street, Clarksburg, died at her home Wednesday, July 25, 2001. She was born in Lewis County, Sept. 7, 1936, the daughter of the late James R. and Vera Juanita Barnett Linger.
Surviving are one son, William Thomas Reaser, Pittsburgh; three daughters, Janet Grimes, West Milford, Billie Lewis and Kimberley Sue Arnett, both of Clarksburg; two sisters, Ida Mae Butcher and Thelma Linger, both of West Milford; one brother, James G. Linger, West Milford; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Aaron C. Reaser and one sister, Anna Lee Frazier.
Mrs. Morris had worked for the Clarksburg Public Library and attended the Calvary Apostolic Church at Stonewood.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. July 31, 2001, at the Harmony Cemetery with Pastor James Feeney officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery.

Mary Gladys Virginia Carpenter Prieto
BRIDGEPORT -- Mary Gladys Virginia Carpenter Prieto, 65, of East View, died Saturday evening, July 28, 2001, at her residence under the care of People's Hospice. She was born in Grafton on Jan. 13, 1936, a daughter of the late Hurley and Hazel Blanche Stansberry Carpenter.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Prieto; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Debbie and Michael Shuttleworth, Clarksburg, Brenda and Ike Waller, Clarksburg, Vanessa and David Fisher, Lost Creek, Tina and Dale Kalar, Mount Clare, and Kimberley Farnsworth, Clarksburg; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Manuel Jr. and Dawn Prieto, Mark Prieto, and John and Vicki Prieto, all of Clarksburg; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Betty) Morrison and William Jean George, both of Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Geremy Farnsworth and two sisters, Edna Snyder and Margaret "Corbey" Pantagis.
Mary retired as a decorator from Eagle Convex Glass with over 25 years service and was a member of Flint Local No. 567 Glass Workers Union. She was a member of the East Clarksburg Wesleyan Methodist Church, Broadway.
Friends may call at the Burnside Funeral Home, S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Todd Buterbaugh presiding. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery.

FLATWOODS -- Elwood "Woodie" Riffe, 83, of Burnsville, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, in the Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Gassaway, after a long illness.
He was born May 5, 1918, in Greenup, Ky., a son of the late Earl and Mabyn Oliver Riffe. Mr. Riffe was a carpenter, a 53-year member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 105, member of Carpenters Union No. 475 at Clarksburg and a member of the Burnsville Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie K. Riffe, on June 12, 1995. He is also survived by Mary E. "Sally" Brown and Ronald F. Dean, Burnsville; two sisters, Thelma M. Rigsby, Ashland, Ky., and Isabelle Smith, Coal Grove, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Normal, Eugene, Vernon and Wayne Riffe.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home, Flatwoods, with Rev. Larry Clifton officiating. Burial will follow in the Knights and Pythias Cemetery at Burnsville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today, at the funeral home, where an I.O.O.F. Lodge Service will be held at 7 p.m.

BRIDGEPORT -- Raymond Ernest Riffle, 60, of West Main Street, Grafton, formerly of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Grafton City Hospital. The arrangements are being handled by the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 E. Main St., Bridgeport, and are incomplete at this time.

CLARKSBURG -- Morris W. "Bud" Walker, 70, 137 Arthur Ave., died Saturday, July 28, 2001, in Ruby Memorial Hospital following surgery. He was born in Elkridge, July 1, 1931, a son of the late James Morris and Ustina McLaughlin Walker.
Twice married, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Leola Ferrell Walker, whom he married Feb. 23, 1951. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Barbara Joanne Bartlett Yeager Walker, whom he had married Sept. 13, 1974.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Garland and Kathy Walker, Clarksburg, and Craig and Nancy Walker, Morgantown; four stepchildren and spouses, Judy and Edsel Morris, James Island, S.C., Kathryn Evans, Baltimore, Md., Mike and Concetta Yeager, Clarksburg, and Jeff Yeager, Jane Lew; eight grandchildren, Michael and Andrew Walker, Clarksburg, Jessica, Daniel and Samuel Walker, Morgantown, Haylee Howard and Cole Morris, both of James Island, S.C., and Zachary Evans, Baltimore; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Jones, Mrs. Leon (Zelma) Ohlinger, both of Gauley Bridge, Mrs. Maxine Gulley, Melbourne, Fla. and Mrs. Lowdermilk, Kimberly; a friend, Francie Yeager, Weston; and an aunt, Evelyn Holt, Chelyan.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Mr. Walker was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church where he served as co-chairperson of the Board of Trustees. He was a 1949 graduate of East Bank High School.
He was a member of Sunnycroft Country Club. "Bud" enjoyed his family, his church, golf and helping others.
Mr. Walker had been associated with John C. Geise, Engineers as a draftsman. He had served as project engineer for Ingersoll Rand and Dresser Industries.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, from 2-8 p.m. today and from noon until 1 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home Monday, July 30, 2001 at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Hume presiding.
Interment will be in Bridgeport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be memorial contributions to the Clarksburg Baptist Church.
