Getting Started!

Each week for seven weeks your newspaper will publish a sequential chapter of the children’s story, "Noodles Makes a Boo-Boo," by Marcia Thornton Jones and Debbie Dadey. It’s a fun story about an innovative young girl and her more cautious twin brother.

Find the story installment in your newspaper and read it thoroughly. Then reread it. Locate the activities in this guide that coincide with each week’s chapter. Take your time and answer the questions. Some of the questions are more difficult than others. Start with the first questions and then give the questions for advanced readers a try. (Most questions were designed for students in grades 2-8.)

Try to answer as many questions as you can. Many require you to share your opinion, advice or an explanation. Think about your answers before you begin to write. As you read, try to envision the story as it’s happening. Imagine you are there as the story is unfolding.

Have fun and enjoy.
